BREASTFEEDING SUPPORT BEGINS BEFORE YOU EVEN GIVE BIRTH. ALL THESE CLASSES ARE FREE, NO REGISTRATION REQUIRED, AND DROP-INS ARE WELCOME. TOPIC EXAMPLES ARE BASIC BREASTFEEDING HOLDS, NORMAL INFANT BREASTFEEDING PATTERNS, BREASTFEEDING WHILE RETURNING TO WORK, AND SO MUCH MORE. The group is intended for new mothers who may be having difficulty adjusting to motherhood. We discuss Post-partum Depression and Anxiety, Traumatic Birth, other mental health conditions related to having a newborn. We discuss the signs and symptoms of these disorders, risk factors and other factors that contribute to PMAD. It is a confidential support group and the format is intended to be casual and supportive. We often do relaxation exercises, some cognitive behavioral therapy, and other techniques to support new moms.
- Only newborns, also known as lap babies, can attend with their mommies.
- Delivering at Twin Cities is not a requirement.
- All group members must sign in weekly on the website in order to attend.
